Primæpp bridges the gap between handwriting and the digital world. It harnesses the benefits of both environments and combines fine motor skills training with interactive support. This helps children learn to read and write without competing with analogue approaches to learning handwriting.
Animated stroke sequences help children to adopt the correct way to write and allow them to check their handwriting on their own. And the best part? You can watch them as often as you like!
Letters are displayed in different sizes, which learners can adjust to suit their needs. An accuracy gauge provides information on tracing precision, and once a letter has been mastered, visual feedback is displayed. Tracing attempts can be saved in a progress overview using the heart icon, or simply deleted using the x. Two lines allow users to enter their own words for practice.
With a single tap, learners can hear the sound of the letter and the name of the animal pictured. This helps to reinforce the link between sound and letter shape.
Primæpp is designed for tablets and stylus input, but as a modern web app it works independently of the platform in a browser – regardless of the device that you use.
With Primæpp, you can select, display and practise unconnected ‘print’ and connected ‘cursive’ writing, as well as all of Primæ’s letter form variations. Primæpp can thus be used in a variety of teaching methods and can be tailored to the individual needs of pupils – a unique feature.
Primæpp is still in development and not yet publicly available. But if you’re interested in using the app in your classroom, or in any other setting, just send us a message and we’ll add you to our list.
